On Tea, Nature, and Being
Through years of researching organic tea cultivation alongside farmers,I came to understand this:
Tea is the very essence of the relationship between soil, water, sun, and people.
A single cup of tea brings forth the moment where nature's cycle meets human sensation.
This is a moment that can only be experienced through tea leaves grown in a way that honors and protects the natural world.
The silence of the soil, the unseen life of microorganisms, and the shifting of the seasons.
A "deliciousness" imbued with nature's vital energy, and the human senses that receive it.
I have sought tea leaves that act as a "mirror," quietly reflecting the cycle of nature and the essence of our own being.
And how should it be?
I continue to ask these questions.
In this space, I wish to gently share the aesthetics I have reached through organic tea, and together with you, create a new world of tea.

Foundation of my Work
Rooted in more than 30 years with the Shizuoka Organic Tea Farmers Association, I have learned deeply from the fields where farmers have continually tested theories and hypotheses in actual tea gardens. Through this process, I came to understand and embrace an approach to organic cultivation grounded in scientific evidence.
This forms the foundation of my work.
By perceiving the intricate relationships within the natural world, I eventually arrived at the essence of the art of brewing tea.
At the core of my being lies a phrase passed down from a master tea farmer:
"Tea is heart." (Ocha wa Kokoro)
